Fall is officially here but the bean hole is still producing. CatDaddy says the catfishing action comes and goes as the weather fluctuates from warm to cold, right now, but chumming with beans is still incredibly effective. As soon as sustained cooler temperatures and cold rains hit, the bean hole action will come screeching to a halt so now is the time to get in on the bean hole action while the bite is still hot! When you regularly fish a bean hole and chum it frequently, like CatDaddy does, he says the cats become accustom to the soybean concoction and they all pile in to get their fill which creates a great opportunity for catfishermen. While he is still hitting the soybeans hard, CatDaddy says he’s prepping for drifting action.
With decent wind speeds, CatDaddy looks for October to be an excellent month for drifting and hooking up with the blue cats that are coming on strong. He’ll talk about some of his favorite local haunts to drift on. When it comes to drifting, speed is everything. Too fast or too slow, neither are effective, it’s all about the magic speed which CatDaddy says is 1 mph or under. To achieve this, CatDaddy will talk about using drift socks in various lengths, out to 12 feet in order to properly control your speed.
With the blue cat bite coming on, CatDaddy briefly looks ahead to the peak of blue cat fishing action when the cold weather really sets in. November and December are prime months for stellar blue cat action, the cold temps make them feel frisky and they respond aggressively to drifting whole shad or fresh cut shad, says CatDaddy.

Trav is a small town kid driven by hunting, fishing, rock/honky-tonk music, cold beer and his wife and kids. Being raised in a rural area surrounded by wildlife and lacking the luxurious amenities of big city life might be challenging to some; however, to Trav, it was an utter blessing. From his inception on, Trav has spent his life outdoors, he was taught at a very young age to hunt and fish and over the years these skills have molded him into a self-sufficient outdoorsman that strives to live a sustainable and God fearing lifestyle. When Trav isn’t behind the mic he’s either in the woods or on the water sharing his passion and love for the outdoors with his family and friends. So, don't bother searching for him online and you couldn’t pay him to own an iPhone, but let me reassure you of this: If there’s hunting and fishing, cold beer on tap and shaving isn’t required, he’s certainly not too far. What you see is what you get with Trav and to sum him up is simple, he doesn’t ask for a lot and he’ll never need much, a rifle, a bow, the love of his good looking wife and to be all that his children will ever need!
