Geoff joins The Revolution this week to discuss timely strategies for hunting coyotes right now. Hunters often utilize electronic calls, however, for inexperienced coyote hunters the sound library can be overwhelming. What sounds should you use in order to be effective? At this point in the year, Geoff says that hunters should get away from using prey distress sounds as the coyotes have most likely heard them and have become educated. Instead, he recommends using more coyote vocalizations and fights. He stresses the importance of understanding that each stand is different and that hunters have to change their call sequences for the circumstances. Geoff encourages hunters to get out as much as possible to familiarize themselves with the sound library and see how coyotes react to each call, in order to more effectively use them to their advantage.
